Accredited and Non-accredited Fire Skills Training

Fire Skills Training is a registered training organisation (RTO) with a variety of courses on offer from fire safety and compliance to trade and post trade qualifications for fire protection technicians.

With a full time team of experienced instructors, consultants, fire safety advisors and fire technicians, Fire Skills Training offer corporate training, in-house training, customised training and regular public courses.

Accredited Courses

Fire Skills Training was created with the aim of maximising the effectiveness and efficiency of fire protection industry companies by ensuring their people have the required knowledge, skills, qualifications and occupational licences. In order to do this we offer the following qualifications:

• CPP20511 Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing
• CPP30811 Certificate III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing
• UEE31011 Certificate III in Fire Protection Control
• Fire Safety Advisor

Fire Skills Training takes a self-paced, employment based training approach as we believe this is the best way for students to gain the experience required to satisfy the course requirements. Fire Skills Training provides the learning material and practical examinations to support the practical instruction you receive from your supervisor or employer.

Fire Skills Training works with students and their employer to develop a Training Plan to suit their needs.

Non – Accredited Training

In Queensland, the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (BFSR 2008) requires building occupiers to provide:

• Evacuation coordination instructions to the building’s Evacuation Coordinator (Chief Warden) and any persons responsible for carrying out the building’s evacuation procedures (Wardens) at least once every year.
• First-response evacuation instruction to all people working in the building at intervals of not more than 2 years.

Fire Skills Training offer a range of compliance tools and training services to ensure that your business is compliant and prepared to handle a range of emergency situations. Our training sessions include practical exercises to ensure participants are able to apply the knowledge obtained throughout the training sessions to real life situations. Our current courses include:

• Evacuation Coordination Training (includes an evacuation drill)
• First Response Training (includes practical training in the use of fire extinguishers and fire blankets)
• Tenancy Fire Prevention and Awareness
• Fire Panel Training
